We are delighted to confirm that Edgewater Lake Wānaka is now a Toitū carbon reduce certified organisation. We recognise the importance of making a positive contribution towards our planet and we are proud to begin this journey of committing to managing and reducing our carbon emissions.
The Tiaki Promise
The Tiaki Promise is a commitment to care for New Zealand while you are here. This means care for the land, sea, waterways and nature by treading lightly and leaving no trace. It means traveling safely and showing care for others around you. Lastly, it means that you have respect for culture and that you travel with an open heart and mind.
Sustainability is at the heart of what we do at Edgewater

Love Wānaka Community Fund
Love Wānaka exists to change the way we travel, for good; giving everyone who visits, lives or works in Wānaka the chance to off-set the impacts of their activities and be part of protecting our home, now and for generations to come.
Our executive chef Chris has created a dessert specially for this cause. We donate $2 from each dessert sold to the Love Wānaka community fund.
Additionally, for each Edgewater Pale Ale sold, we also donate $1 to this fund.
Guest Well-being
We have a range of low-impact activities at Edgewater Lake Wānaka including mountain bikes available for hire, tennis, mini-golf and lawn games.
There is direct access to the Wānaka Millennium Walkway from our grounds.
Single Use Cup Free
We are apart of the Single Use Cup (SUC) free movement and don’t offer single use cups or takeaway packaging in our restaurant. We offer Be Chunky loan cups for a $10 refundable deposit, which you can get back when you return to any participating cafes.
We always want to encourage our guests to make the most of our stunning lakeside views, so if you’re out our way, why don’t you sit down, relax, and soak in the views, or cosy up by the fireplace, while enjoying your coffee.
